The Fox Theatre transforms into a cauldron of spookiness as we open our doors to our top-rated ghost tours this Halloween season. Spooks and scares lurk around every shadowy corner as guides spin chilling tales of eerie spirits and supernatural spectres. Many staff - and more than a few patrons - have felt sudden blasts of cold air, seen shadowy figures float along the walls, or heard mysterious creaks, thumps and whispers. Will you?
In 1927 Al Jolson declared, “You ain’t heard nuthin yet!” and on Christmas Day 1929 the Moller Opus 5566 Theatre Organ sang for the first time. This one-of-kind theatre organ, affectionately known as Mighty Mo to the citizens of Atlanta, has the ability to create sounds from crashing thunderstorms to beautifully light birdsong and has its own storied history. Join Fox Theatre organists Ken Double and Rick McGee as they take you on a journey that starts in Hagerstown, MD and is still continuing today.
The Fox Theatre invites you to step behind the curtain for an exclusive look Behind the Scenes. Get ready for your close up in our star dressing room and walk the same steps to the stage just like Fox Theatre legends Elvis Pressley, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Prince. See for yourself how the Fox Theatre worked in 1929 compared to today due to our “preserve in place” policy. *Please note that there are a large number of stairs on this tour and several places are not ADA accessible*
