Assisted Listening Devices (Phonic Ear)

The Fox Theatre offers an audio clarification device for patrons with hearing impairments.  This service is free of charge and is available at all performances.  Assisted Listening Devices are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.  The Fox Theatre will require a form of identification (driver's license or other) to issue the hearing device, which will be held until the equipment is returned at the end of use.

Sign Language Interpreted Performances

Sign Language Interpreting Services are available on the first Sunday Matinee for shows that run one full week or more.  To request Sign Language Interpreting Services for a different performance or event, please contact the Fox Theatre Ticket Office to inquire about ticket availability and services.  Sign Language Interpreting Services must be requested two weeks in advance of the performance in order to guarantee this service.  Tickets are available upon request and are subject to availability.

Captioning Services

Closed Captioning is available via GalaPro without advance request required for each performance of the following titles in the 2023-2024 season: Moulin Rouge, Wicked, Aladdin, Hamilton, Beetlejuice, Six, To Kill a Mockingbird & Les Miserables. All other shows are available upon request. To request that closed captioning services be made available for an event not listed here, please contact the Ticket Office (855-285-8499) when securing tickets, or the Guest Experience Manager (404-881-2086). For events not listed here, please submit requests at least four (4) weeks prior to the event date to ensure the best chance of fulfillment. You can also find Assisted Listening Devices at the stand in the Main Lobby.

Galapro opens the curtains to a universal cultural experience by delivering automated subtitles, closed captioning, dubbing, audio descriptions, and amplification to the user's own mobile device. All content is provided in real time, using voice recognition technology, developed specifically for theater and live performances.

How does it work? Simply download the app and choose from our participating theaters. You can search by city or current location. Once you choose your preferred theater you will be able to see the show offered. Subtitles & Closed Captioning users can customize their screen by choosing brightness and font size. Subtitles or closed captioning will appear as soon as the show starts and does not interfere with neighboring seated guest's experience.

Guests who either do not have a smartphone, or choose not to use their personal, mobile device are able to check out venue provided tablets at the Assisted Listening device stand in the Spanish Room.

Restrooms

Accessible Restrooms are located in the Administrative Offices off of the Main Lobby.  These restrooms are each a private room with the sink in the same room.  All of the restrooms are equipped with automatic doors.  Any of the Fox Theatre staff can direct any patrons to these facilities.

Elevators

The main lobby elevator is located just to the right, once you pass through our front doors. It will take you to the First Dress and Second Dress levels. Once you reach those levels you will need to either climb or descend a section of stairs in order to reach your seat in the balcony. There are no accessible seats located in the balcony. All accessible seating is located exclusively on the Orchestra level.

Telephones

A TTY phone is available in our administrative offices and can be accessed by contacting the Guest Exprience Manager.

Concessions

The Fox Theatre provides a variety of accessible concession areas:

The Mezzanine North Bar can be accessed by taking the passenger elevator from the main lobby level to the second floor.
