Camp Broadway® LLC, a New York-based youth enrichment company, returns to Atlanta’s Rialto Center for the Arts at George State University (80 Forsyth Street Northwest) on June 3 through June 7 to celebrate its 20th anniversary camp. Camp Broadway was introduced in Atlanta in 1999 by the Fox Theatre as a centerpiece of the organization’s community outreach and audience development programming. The theatre presented Camp Broadway annually for nearly fifteen years during which time nearly 2,000 theatre-loving children had the opportunity to participate in Camp Broadway’s signature musical theatre camp. To celebrate Camp Broadway’s commitment to nurturing artists and building audiences, the company is: •Launching Camp Broadway Forever, a national search for Camp Broadway’s nearly 40,000 alumni around the country. Atlanta alumni are invited to enroll in the program at campbroadway.com/camp-broadway-forever to receive theatre news, ticket offers and invitations to special events at partner theatres. •Providing 10 theatre-loving kids, age 10-15, a scholarship to attend camp at the Rialto Center on June 3-7. This opportunity is generously funded by The Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation with additional support by Most Valuable Kids of Greater Atlanta. Camp Broadway in Atlanta is led by Director/Choreographer Michelle Robinson and Musical Director Bill Newberry. Campers will hone their skills as performers on stage and off; develop their ability to collaborate with others; and learn the fundamentals of working in a creative environment through classes in singing, dancing and acting. Scenes and songs from Roald Dahl’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be performed onstage at the Rialto Center at the Camp Broadway Family Finale. Camp Broadway LLC is a 2016 Special Drama Desk Award-winning company for “introducing young people to the magic of theater and for playing a crucial role in creating tomorrow’s audiences for over 20 years.” The program is now presented in Atlanta in association with Broadway in Atlanta. #Broadway #BroadwayAtlanta #CampBroadway
