Fox Theatre Grant Program

The Fox Theatre Grant Program, through Fox Gives, supports the preservation and revitalization of historic theaters across Georgia, ensuring these cultural landmarks continue to enrich their communities. Since 2008, the program has awarded $4.2 million in financial assistance through Single-Year and Multiyear grants, providing vital funding for restoration projects that drive economic growth and cultural impact. In addition to financial support, grantees may receive professional development opportunities through seminars and industry workshops.

Fox Gives extends its gratitude to the Southface Institute for its ongoing partnership through the GoodUse Program. This collaboration offers technical assistance and financial support, enabling historic theaters across Georgia and the Southeast to adopt sustainable energy practices. By improving energy efficiency, these theaters can reduce costs and reinvest savings into preservation, programming, and educational initiatives.

Since 2021, the Southface Institute has awarded $323,000 in grant funding to nine historic theaters, including: Alabama Theatre & Lyric Theatre (Birmingham, AL), Douglass Theatre (Macon, GA), Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre (Marietta, GA), Elba Theatre (Elba, AL), Grove Park Foundation (Atlanta, GA), Historic DeSoto Theatre (Rome, GA), Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts (Decatur, AL), Sandersville School (Sandersville, GA), Southside Theatre Guild (Fairburn, GA), and Balzer Theatre at Herren’s (Atlanta, GA).
