Take a guided tour back to 1929 and the golden era of the movie palace at the Fox Theatre. Experience a magic carpet ride through ancient Egypt and the Middle East, all while learning about the largest movie palace in the Southeast. Be swept away into a world of Elvis Presley and the Rolling Stones, a world of Atlanta citizens rising up and saving a landmark from the wrecking ball, all from under the twinkling stars and fluffy clouds.
Exterior Self-Guided Architectural Tours
Please join us for our new Exterior Self-Guided Tours at the Fox Theatre. These tours include the exterior of the building and give you an opportunity to explore our architectural landmark at your own pace. The tour is available from M-Sa 10am to 5pm and on Sundays from 12pm - 5pm. Buyers will be notified by email if some days the exterior of the building is closed for a film shoot or private event.
The tour begins at the Stage Door on the Ponce De Leon facade of the building and concludes on the North Side with more than eight stops in between. Learn more about the history of the physical materials of the building and the architectural elements and details. The tour is available in a downloadable PDF guide and will be emailed to you after each purchase. Please allow up to an hour for your emailed guide to arrive.
*Note - As this is an Exterior Self-Guided Tour of the Theatre, there will be no access to restrooms. Please plan accordingly.
Due to COVID-19, interior guided tours are temporarily unavailable. Please continue to check back for more updates.
Tours take place on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and will go on sale 2 weeks in advance. Everyone must have a ticket to attend the tour. To inquire about booking a special tour or a group of 20 or more, please email a Fox Theatre TOUR SALES REP. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early as tours do start on time.
Please be aware that the Fox is a working theatre and some spaces may not always be available. Fox Tours last approximately 60 minutes.
